Open for unlimited driving pleasure – the Carlsson CK20 based on the SLK 200 – with 195 bhp
The new SLK 200 is the ideal basis for tuning specialist Carlsson because, thanks to the new suspension design and setup, as well as the new rack-and-pinion steering, it offers the sharp responses of a go-kart coupled with long-distance comfort.
Carlsson CK20 based on the SLK 200
For the SLK 200, Carlsson offers the CK20 engine-tuning kit, which raises the turbo pressure by 0.1 bar and thus the output of the four-cylinder engine to 195 bhp / 144 kW coupled with maximum torque of 270 Nm at 3500 rpm. The result of Carlsson's power hike: the CK20 is noticeably more powerful than the standard model, particularly at lower engine speeds, and reaches a top speed of 237 km/h. For the standing start to 100 km/h, the manual CK20 takes just 6.7 seconds.
Carlsson sports suspension
The already excellent handling characteristics of the SLK 200 are further improved by the Carlsson sports suspension, which lowers the car by a guaranteed 30 mm. Thanks to the lower centre of gravity, the degree of roll is reduced while a sport anti-roll bar set ensures fully neutral driving behaviour. Moreover, the sporting spring / damper setup creates the basis for perfect handling.
High-grade aerodynamic set
The newly developed aerodynamic set for the SLK 200 consists of a front spoiler with supplementary Xenon fog lamps, large air ducts for brake cooling and aerodynamically optimised side mouldings that, optionally, can be fitted with a rear-axle cooling duct. Other components include the rear skirt with integrated diffuser and a rear spoiler to reduce lift. The right sound to go with these sporting attributes is provided by the Carlsson rear-silencer system, which is made of stainless steel with hard-chromed, performance-enhancing stainless-steel tail pipes embossed with the Carlsson logo. Furthermore, a reduction in back pressure achieved by a more elaborate absorption system brings about a further improvement in the acceleration times of the Carlsson CK20.
High-quality leather interior
The interior is dominated by the fine two-tone leather trim made of 'Walknappa' Nappa leather whereby the seat surfaces, as well as the centre parts of the head restraints and the middle door panels, are cognac coloured with graphic surrounds. Also fitted are two highly polished roll bars made of stainless steel. The ergonomically designed steering wheel makes a positive contribution to comfort and safety.
1/16 Brilliant Edition light-alloy wheels
For the SLK 200, Carlsson recommends the one-piece, 1/16 Brilliant Edition wheels with Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres. Thanks to its outstanding qualities in terms of steering precision, cornering speed and braking performance, this wheel / tyre combination guarantees the highest degree of ride comfort and safety on both wet and dry roads. The exclusive wheels of the Brilliant Edition series are available for the SLK 200 in the dimensions 8.5 x 18" with 225/40 tyres for the front axle and 10 x 18" with 255/35 tyres for the rear axle.
