Unsurpassable Quality - The Volvo XC60 from HEICO SPORTIV

With the Volvo XC60, not only the carmaker ushered in a new design era, but HEICO SPORTIV also broke new ground in the early days of the product development phase.

Crash testing in compliance with the latest pedestrian safety guidelines, EG wheel directives, cornering testing, clay modeling and CAD engineering - terms which under normal circumstances only have a meaning for experts... or for the development engineers at Volvo tuner HEICO SPORTIV. "Our cus-tomers have come to expect unsurpassable product quality. But not only since the official start of the official cooperation with Volvo Car Germany and Volvo Car Switzerland," explains General Manager, Holger Hedtke, about the ever more demanding market fundamentals. "And against this background, we also have to cope with permanently changing underlying conditions and international legislation: modern product development has become a race against time."

The Volvo XC60 from HEICO SPORTIV

The latest innovation from HEICO SPORTIV's design department is the all-inclusive accessories range for the Volvo XC60. The self-set goals were as simple as they were challenging: for the deliverability of the HEICO SPORTIV accessories to coincide with the market debut of the Crossover model. Not an easy undertaking, given that new ground was being broken especially with the development of the design elements.

For the first time in HEICO SPORTIV's history, one of the components had to undergo crash testing due to the latest pedestrian safety legislation. "This not only had a direct impact on the design, but also on material quality, the anchorage points and supplier selection," says Alexander Lode, responsible for vehicle exteriors. HEICO SPORTIV is therefore all the more proud to have passed the tests first time round. "The additional front-loaded effort paid off and is a milestone in HEICO SPORTIV's product development. We're working at the same eye level as the manufacturer," Mr. Lode continues.

Both the front spoiler and rear valence are made of polyurethane plastic (PUR) and fastened similarly to the originals. One of the material's main characteristics is its extreme loading capacity due to its very high impact resistance and tensile strength. Consequently, a slight brush with the curbstone does not automatically result in a major repair.

Sound engineering for the diesel and up to 315 bhp - guaranteed!

While the rear valence accommodates the four pipe exhaust system, a dual pipe exhaust system is also available and can be used in conjunction with the series production rear valence. The show stop-per: for the first time, HEICO SPORTIV has succeeded in making the sound of the diesel models 2.4D and D5 more sporty and sonorous. "The fine tuning of the sound took many hours' painstaking work in the sound laboratory... the result is impressive," says Martin Muller, developer in charge of exhaust systems, chassis and tuning.

This is available for all turbo petrol and diesel motors including a comprehensive guarantee: in the event of a guarantee-covered repair, it will be handled by the appointed Volvo dealership analogously to the works guarantee - including all material and labor costs. Consequently, the customer does not have to bear any excess.

Individualism, shoe gear included - now with General Operating License

HEICO SPORTIV offers light alloy wheels from 8x18 to 8.5x20 inch and the exclusive forged wheel VOLUTION® FORGED in 9x20 inch - as complete wheel assemblies, optionally with Continental or Pirelli tires. As one of the first vehicle tuners at all, HEICO SPORTIV offers light alloy wheels with a General Operating License. This means the customer saves the cost of German Technical Inspection Agency (TUV) registration: the General Operating License simply needs to be enclosed with the vehicle documentation.

The extensive program is rounded off with increased wheel spacing (30mm), sport suspension (30mm) and various interior applications such as illuminated stainless steel running boards.
